On 66 Str it has marginally less Ar 1 handed with marginally more AR 2 handed than a 40/40 refined Dank sword. I recommend using the Dark sword for its sexy R2s anyway. Strength build is the best for PvE. Focus strength. I usually get up enough dex and str early to rush the claymore you find in high wall of lothric, guarded by fire breathing dragon. From there that's my weapon until Farron Keep where you find the ultra greatsword. Heavy gem on it.
