Muzzle brakes don't actually work on a shotgun due to the physics of shotguns...due to the pressure drop from gas expansion in such a wide bore barrel venting what pressure is left (hundreds of psi only at the muzzle) is relatively ineffective. Kel-Tec is apparently doing a much better job with their long guns then their older pistols. If you look closer at the KSG and KS7 the receiver and internals are pretty heavy duty parts. The receiver is a formed hardened steel that's very strong.

The cost difference of the KS7 and KSG might make the KS7 more interesting. An open ejection port can be handy for rapidly loading a single shell, which is a problem with a bullpup design.The KS7's foregrip's mount is designed differently than the KSG's. KS7's foregrip has too much side to side movement compared to the really solid feel of the KSG. I'm afraid a vertical foregrip would only make this worse.
