Primal Shambling mound does die from NEGATIVE ENERGY! However it takes a LOT of negative energy to finish it off even whilst it lays dying. I had to use an inflict medium/critical but both didn't finish it (I also tried Boneshaker) What finished the beast off was equipping HAND OF DAMNATION the evil scythe on Jaethal, that did the trick.
